Leveraging Educational Assistance Program (LEAP)
The LEAP-Student Funding Support (SFS) offered funding support to partner institutions that have student loan facilities with the objective of widening access to such facilities by students in need of funds and at more reasonable cost than funds available in the market. In the process of marketing LEAP, DEEPSAI got request for funds to upgrade training facilities. Realizing that the provision of such funds redounds to the upgrading of the quality of training, DEEPSAI packaged the LEAP-Facilities Funding Support (FFS)
DEEPSAI through LEAP-SFS funds the “Study Now, Pay Later” programs of its Partner Schools to accommodate a group/batch of students who desire to pursue higher education as path to gainful employment. While it is the school that borrows, DEEPSAI allows some leniency of repayment by giving the school a grace period while the scholar is still in school and starts repayment when he is employed. At the outset, the school is required to partner with an employer company.

Several training centers for seafarers needed to upgrade their training facilities to conform with MARINA’s quality standards. This prompted DEEPSAI to package project financing assistance. LEAF-FFS improved the cashflow from DSP because this funding need has short gestation period and repayment is much sooner that LEAP-FFS.
